St Aldate’s Tavern are having a Spanish food night on the 8th of August, and they have a different evening every month. If you are free and nearby go and check it out.
The Royal Oak on the Woodstock Road have 20% of wine bottle prices every Tuesday, for those wine-lovers why not sample great food with some cheap wine.
The Oxford Retreat has a newly refurbished function room and private terrace available for hire and open until 2am on Friday and 3am on Saturday. They will also be showing the Ashes all month and have it screened in the garden too – winner!
The Big Bang are making Royal Pork in Cider sausages to commemorate the Royal Baby – Pork from Royal Estates and apples from Berkshire where Kate is from – A royal treat I would say.
Atomic Burger & Pizza have a new burger and pizza menu due in mid August, but with no specific date. This is big news for all fans and stay tune to FOTO where we will bring you more details as we get them.
The Victoria Arms has their BBQ Burger Bar open every weekend during the summer and have their summer party on Friday the 26th of July with live music and a gourmet BBQ menu – hard to ignore on a sunny evening.
Roots of Oxford has just taken delivery of their third electric delivery vehicle. Their delivery has expanded into Berkshire and South East Oxfordshire. They are procuring various products locally from farms such as Rectory Farm and Sandy Lane Farm including strawberries, raspberries and various radishes. A great business expanding and supporting the local producers and economy.
The Rusty Bycycle is hosting the Truck Festival after party on Sunday from 5pm.
The Ashmolean Rooftop Restaurant has launched a summer menu with some exciting new dishes and sharing platters. Starters feature a watermelon, feta and basil salad and there’s a Spanish feel to oneof their platters; Mutton, Pancetta, Chorizo, and Butter Bean Casserole – perfect to share among friends. Don’t forget they have their rooftop bar where they are also serving their gin, elderflower & cucumber cooler.
Finally, Jacobs Inn is set to open shortly, keep an eye out for the Food Of The Ox preview! I know many foodies in the city and surrounds are keen to try this one out. More news when we get it!
